Hello, my name is Laura McDonald. I have recently joined the Trenton MFRC team as a Veteran Family Program Navigator. I am a proud daughter of a veteran, my whole life I have been connected to the military, through my dad, being a cadet and then a Civilian Instructor at a local cadet squadron. Previous to my role with the MFRC I worked at a mental health not-for-profit working with vulnerable populations. I have a passion for working with people, and am so glad to have landed in a job where I am able to assist individuals who remind me of my family as they navigate their transition into post release life. 

It brings me so much joy being able to help coordinate this walk for the Bay of Quinte Region.

Hélène Cadotte-Gagnon is a dedicated community advocate who is committed to supporting Veterans, families, and community initiatives across Canada. With experience in engagement, collaboration, and volunteerism, she brings compassion, teamwork, and a people-focused approach to the projects and communities she supports.

She has worked with military families for more than 30 years and has served as the coordinator of the Veteran Family Program at the MFRC for the past five years.

Hélène is also the spouse and mother of Veterans. She understands firsthand that when a military member is released from service, the entire family experiences that transition as well.

She is excited to help bring this event to the Trenton region and to create meaningful opportunities for connection, support, and community engagement for Veterans and their families.
