I joined the primary reserves in 1991 at age 17 and served as a member of the 1st Battalion NS Highlanders B Coy Springhill NS. In July 1994 I component transfered from the primary reserves to the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon enrollment I was posted to PPCLI Battle School in Wainwright AB. I completed my basic infantry training and was posted to 2PPCLI Kaypong Barracks CFB Winnipeg. During my time in 2PPCLI I completed many pcf courses, including Lav Gunner amd Crew Commander. I served on 2 operational NATO tours in the Former Yugoslavia, one with 2PPCLI from January 97- July 1997 and again in 2000 as an augmenting platoon with 3PPCLI. I was medically released July 2005. I am currently the Sgt At Arms at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 Amherst N.S. and the driving force behind the recently unveiled Afghanistan War Memorial here in the Town of Amherst.
