Dan Hansen is a Canadian Military Police veteran who served from 1998 to 2016, including domestic and international postings. Like many who serve, Dan left the military carrying more than just memories — a diagnosis of PTSD in 2019 forced him to confront the reality that the mission didn’t end when the uniform came off.

But quitting was never on the menu.

Instead of retreating, Dan rebuilt. He became an entrepreneur, peer supporter, and advocate for veterans navigating life after service. His lived experience — the hard parts, the messy parts, and the rebuilding — fuels everything he does today. Dan now works with Veterans Transition Network and leads multiple veteran-focused initiatives, helping others find purpose, stability, and connection after the military.

As the Cold Lake Team Lead for the Canadian Walk for Veterans, Dan brings heart, grit, and relentless commitment to the community. For him, the Walk isn’t just an event — it’s a reminder that no veteran should ever feel alone on the road forward.

Dan lives in Cold Lake, Alberta with his family and a house full of rescue animals, and continues to fight for a world where veterans are supported long after the medals are put away.
