Raised on the WWII lived experience stories told to me by my grandparents, my path to working with those in uniform in a mental health capacity seemed clear. I have spent the past 14 years working with CAF members and veterans across Canada (on base in Edmonton, Esquimalt, Trenton; in private practice in Hamilton, ON) and I completed my doctorate at Royal Roads University (Factors that Help and Factors that Prevent Canadian Military Members Use of Mental Health Services). My CAF focus group data is published in the Journal of Military, Veteran and Family Health with the goal of raising awareness of mental health in the CAF.
